Privacy policy
Habit Assasin is operated by Michal Fecko, the controller of personal information processed to provide the app. Contact: mikeaegeri@gmail.com.
Information on your device
The app stores habits, tasks, schedules, reminders, completion history, notes, reflections, progress and preferences locally. Depending on what you enter, records can include mood, sleep, exercise, urges and habits you want to reduce or stop. Optional personal commitment records contain amounts, currency, beneficiaries and settlement entries.
You may select photos through the system photo picker. The current cloud backup feature includes local file references, not the underlying photo or audio files. Core habit tracking works without an account.
Accounts and cloud backups
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, password and an assigned user ID. Its authentication services also process technical information such as IP addresses and user-agent information for security and abuse prevention. Google sign-in is not enabled in the current release.
Choosing Save to cloud and confirming sends a snapshot of the app database to Google Cloud Firestore. This includes habits, tasks, notes, completion history, wellbeing entries, commitment records, progress and preferences. Signing in alone does not upload this snapshot. Restoring a backup replaces local database records. A backup does not restore the associated photo files on another device.
These features use account information to authenticate you and associate your backups with your account. Backup information is used to save and restore your records. Because a backup can include sensitive wellbeing information, review what you have entered before choosing to upload it.
Updates and website visits
The app uses Expo EAS Update to check for and download compatible updates, including when you are not signed in. Requests include an installation identifier and technical update information. Expo also receives network information, including your IP address, to deliver the service.
This privacy website is hosted on Vercel. Visiting it sends ordinary request information, such as your IP address, requested page and browser information, to the hosting service. We have not added advertising, analytics scripts, forms or tracking cookies to this website.
Providers and disclosures
We use Google Firebase for authentication and cloud backups, Expo for app updates, Vercel for this website and email services to handle messages you send us. Providers process information needed for these services. Their service and security records may be handled under their own terms and privacy notices. Data may be processed outside your country; this app does not promise storage exclusively within the European Union.
We do not sell your personal information or use an advertising SDK in this release. The app does not publish your habit records to a public feed. If you choose to export or share a file, the recipient and service you select can access that file. We may disclose information where required by applicable law.
Provider information: Firebase privacy, Expo privacy and Vercel privacy.
Retention and deletion
Local information remains on your device until you remove it or clear the app’s storage. The local reset does not remove every setting, exported file or cloud backup. Signing out does not delete your local data, account or server backups.
The current cloud service keeps successive backup versions and has no automatic expiry or pruning schedule. Account information and backups remain stored unless removed. Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated cloud records, including older backup versions, or to ask about deleting specific data.
See how to request account and data deletion. Requests are handled by email, not automatically by this website. There is not yet an in-app account-deletion control. We may need to verify account ownership and will explain any applicable retention requirement when handling your request. Provider security logs and recovery copies may follow their separate retention processes.
Security
Firebase and Expo connections use encrypted transport. This is not end-to-end encryption of your cloud backups. Access to backups uses Firebase account authentication and access rules. Protect your device and exported backup files. No system can guarantee complete security.
Your choices and rights
You can use local tracking without an account, choose whether to upload a backup, and manage notification permissions in your device settings. You can contact us for access, correction or deletion of personal information. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict processing, receive a portable copy, object to processing or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
We process ordinary account and backup information to provide the functions you request, and necessary technical records to operate and protect those services. Special protections can apply to health-related information. If you have questions about the basis for processing your records, or want to object to it, contact us. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your jurisdiction.
Adults only
Habit Assasin is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you believe an underage person has provided account information, contact us so we can investigate and address the record.
